New Members - We always need them

Are you interested in becoming a member of Blaxland Volunteer Bushfire Brigade?

Though we have some members who live a considerable distance from Blaxland, it is to the Brigade's advantage (and also easier on the member) if you reside in the Blaxland area.

The Brigade Station is more than a kilometre from Blaxland Railway Station (which is also the closest point for local buses) and outside peak hours, public transport to there is minimal. The Brigade can be called out at all hours of the day and night so, unless you live within 10 minutes walking distance (10 minutes of YOUR walking) of the Brigade Station, your own transport, or access to private transport is desirable.

If you would like to join the Brigade, we would be delighted to welcome you at the Brigade Station in Attunga Road, Blaxland, for you to meet some of us and see what we do.

We have the following routine scheduled activities which you are invited to attend
Training on the first Friday of each month commencing at 7:30 pm.
Some Brigade-related activity each Saturday afternoon at 2:00pm
Meeting night on the third Friday of each month commencing 8:00 pm sharp.
Equipment maintenance nights every Wednesday evening starting between 6:30 and 7:00 pm.

If you are interested, please come along to any of these and ask any member to direct you to the Captain or the Station Officer who will advise you of the procedures for joining the Brigade and what membership of the Brigade entails.

If you would like more information before coming along, please email the Brigade Station Officer
