STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES

Rationale:

To ensure that Field Officers have the support of the majority of Field Active Members

This SOP is to be read in conjunction with AA-02 eligibility to vote for Field Officers.

Standard:

In order for a Field Officer to become "elected", they must obtain greater than 50% of the votes eligible and participating in such election.

The candidate(s) with the highest number of votes and satisfying the greater than 50% criterion shall be deemed "elected" to the position(s).

Where the situation arises that there are more candidates than positions available and not all the positions are filled, an exhaustive ballot system shall be used for the positions that did not have clear winners. This would entail the election being re-held immediately for the remaining positions (from the remaining candidates), whereby after each round of voting the lowest scoring candidate is excluded until such time that the positions are either filled, or there not being any candidates that achieve greater than 50% votes.
