Rationale:
Equipment carried on Rural Fire Service vehicles must conform to standards set by the NSW Rural Fire Service and must be maintained in an effective and safe working condition.
Standard:
All equipment on Brigade vehicles will be checked every maintenance night to ensure that items listed on the vehicle checklist are on the vehicle and in an effective and safe working condition.
All replacement equipment for vehicles are to be checked on maintenance nights to ensure they are in an effective and safe working condition.
Any equipment used in an activity shall be checked, cleaned or sharpened on return to fire station.
Damaged/defective equipment is to be "tagged" with details of damage and reported to Equipment Officer. Member must sign and date tag.
Equipment that requires to be repaired by an authorised dealer, details must be recorded in "Damaged Equipment Register" or Plant Card. (FORM TO BE DESIGNED)
Lost/damaged equipment belonging to BMCC must be reported to the Captain and returned to BMRFS for repair on the appropriate form.
Service records are to be maintained for all motorised equipment.
Equipment manuals are to be maintained by the Brigade.
