Rationale:

It is the Brigade’s responsibility to notify the Group Mechanic of any defects to the vehicle fleet as soon as possible.

The notification of defect is to be completed on the appropriate form detailing the vehicle number and nature of defect.

The vehicle MUST NOT BE DRIVEN whilst a defect is current and pending inspection and repair by the Group Mechanic.

The Equipment Officer shall place a sign on the dash of the vehicle that a defect has been submitted to the Group Mechanic.
