Title: BO-03 PAGERS

 

Rationale:

The Brigade has two (2) Types of pagers to enable members to respond to an incident.

Standard:

Tone Only Pagers:

Pagers are activated by the Station Officer every Wednesday night as a test call.

Pagers are activated only once.

For a Fire Call the pagers will only be activated by an appropriate authority. Captain must be informed immediately of the nature of the incident.
Pagers are to be activated twice (minimum time delay).

Alpha Numeric Pagers:

Pagers are activated by the District Office on Friday mornings as a test page.

Operation of the Alpha numeric system will be the responsibility of the District Office.

All Pagers:

The Captain may at his discretion issue a pager to an active member who is available to respond to an incident.

All pagers are to be returned to the Captain prior to the Annual General Meeting.

Pagers are to be individually identifiable, recorded on Asset Register and signed for on issue.

Care must be taken by members to ensure the safekeeping of pagers.
Captain must be advised immediately a pager is lost, stolen or damaged.
