Rationale:
The Regional Response Group (RRG) (formerly STARG) has been established to provide rapid and massive assistance to any Region within the State affected by major bushfires or other natural disasters.
Standard:
Extended RRG's
They are self-contained groups and are intended for inter-regional deployment however can be used for intra-regional deployment where considered necessary.
They are deployed for up to 72 hours.
Extended RRG's are pre-determined and are on 2 hours prior notice to deployment and will consist of minimum two (2) field officers, two (2) drivers and six (6) firefighters.
Any two (2) of the above should have a First Aid Qualified.
Short Term RRG's
Regional Strike Teams provide assistance to any district within the Region affected by major fires or natural disasters.
They are deployed for up to 24 hours and must be self-sufficient. It will consist of a minimum one (1) field officer, one (1) driver and three (3) firefighters
Drivers for Cat 1 vehicles are to be approved drivers under the Blue Mountains Rural Fire Service Driving Policy.
Senior field officer/station officer must complete attached form of crew details and fax to Blue Mountains Rural Fire Service and complete "T" cards.
