Rationale:

To ensure the brigade has sufficient trained First Aid Officers.

Each crew on operational activities must have a minimum of one accredited first aid officer.

The brigade should have at least 20% of its members qualified as a Senior First Aider.

The brigade fully promotes and supports the continuing training of its members.

First aid training is currently only available through external providers.

A member may provide a copy of their First Aid certificate to the Training Co-ordinator for inclusion on their personal file and be issued with the appropriate first aid badge.

A member may be eligible for a $30.00 reimbursement from the District Office upon presentation of certificate.

Treatment as per first aid training manual. SOP should be read in conjunction with BMRFS SOP TS-03, and Brigade SOP 1.1.9.
