Welcome to the Ozships web site. As many of you will be aware, Convictions hasn't been updated since November 2006. There are also a number of broken links that have been that way for some time.
The first problem was due to two factors, the first running out of room on the web site, which was eventually resolved by moving to a fully commercial ISP. The second problem was that the program that I used to generate the web pages had a problem, which resulted in some significant issues when I build the site.
Over the coming months, there will be some significant changes to the web site, including fixing the broken links and adding more data to the site. One significant change is a name change to OZSHIPS. The pages may now be accessed by using the following address: www.ozships.net. You should update bookmarks to this new page. However, blaxland.com/ozships will continue to work.
The reason for the name change has to do with the fact that "Convictions" was originally set up as a list of convict ships arriving in Australia, which grew into the a listing of general shipping, making the name a bit misleading. To help keep track of what has been done, the new pages have a white background.
This update provides updated shipping envents and passenger details. Most of the broken links should be working with this release. There are over 92,000 people listed in the updated passenger indexes.
